5 Stars Great Idea for Gift!
Great book to write down feelings you have trouble articulating into words. It will definitely take time to go through the entire book and remember memories to write…so buy early and take your time. It is fun! I bought this after Christmas so I would have plenty of time to fill it out, in order to give to him this summer. We will be apart for about 7 months, and I want to give him something to remember how much I love him, especially if we won’t be able to talk much.
5 Stars Great Anniversary Gift
I got this for my husband for our first anniversary. It took several hours to fill in, but it was worth it. This book is geared towards those that have been together for some time.
5 Stars A GREAT WAY TO EXPRESS YOURSELF
This book is great for married couples AND dating couples. It asks questions that are funny AND serious. It’s a great way of showing the person that you love exactly how much you love them.
4 Stars If you want your partner to feel really good!
This book is a really great idea for your partner. My boyfriend opened his on Valentine’s Day and was so incredibly happy. Be warned though - it is no joke - it takes a REALLY long time and a lot of thought to fill out. I am a pretty busy person and I could only fill out about 1/4 of it. I told him I would fill the rest out later. The questions are a little repetitive, which is why it lost a star. There are questions like, “What is a time your felt at peace or comfortable with this person.” and “What is a time that was really funny.” and stuff like that but there are a TON of questions like this and you just run out of steam after a little while.
5 Stars Adorable
I bought this book for my bf for our first anniversary. It took me four hours to fill out–eek!–but he really liked it. I even got a couple of teary kisses. Two things to caution you about–firstly, there are several pages for mementos/photos so be ready to paste those in. Secondly, I have known my bf for a looooong time (8 years) and that helped a lot with this book. I would not buy this book if you don’t know the person inside and out because there are about 80 pages to fill out!

5 Stars All You Need to Plan a Bridal Shower
When it comes to showers you probably would do what I would do and go online and sift through all the random newsgroups and blogs. But what stuff to trust? I turn to Naylor’s expertise. Beleive me this book is much easier and I can totally envision myself planning a great shower after this read. I don’t even watch the Oscars, but the Oscar themed shower in the book is my absolute favorite! It is packed with so many creative ideas (along with some classics) that your party will be sure to be unique and above all, entertaining for every guest in attendance. As This book covers every angle: themes, invites, food, games, gift opening and favors. The bride-to-be will be so thrilled at all the thought you put into her shower!

This book is chock full of amazing ideas! What I love about it most is the idea of picking a theme and then really going for it! This is a cute little book, but perhaps a bit too structured / confusing. Example: there’s a guest sign-in sheet, and then another section for guests’ advice - many of the guests did one or the other, but not both. Perhaps if these were put next to each other (or combined - even better), it would make more sense…

5 Stars Simple but effective
Sometimes it is the advice we really don’t want to hear that makes the most sense in the long run. I got a copy of this at my fav nail salon and it was funny and the cartoons were interesting, but I was looking for something more, something that would give me power over my life. Something that would get my boyfriend to spend more time with me and less time watching TV. What I found in this book was that I had fallen (again) into the same trap I hear all about from my mother, again, and agin. Femininity, yeah, I get it already, but sometimes it would be nice if men just gave us a break. But anyway, this book seems light and fluffy the first time you read it. Well, I didn’t really read it all the way through. It’s just not written like that. It is a very short attention span book. In fact, it is the perfect bathroom book, and no matter what the author says, you can read it to your boyfriend and he will till fall for every trick, and every technique. This is more a book about changing your outlook on life, knowing what you have naturally and why men do the dumb theings they do for women, and how to get them to do dumb things for you. Honestly, at first I thoght it was going to be like a cookbook: a recipe for every occasion, but now that I have read it twice (a little at a time of course), and had some time to try it out, I see that it is more a series of examples to follow. It is working just fine for me, or rather I am working out just fine for me. I get what I want in life and I don’t have to take crap from anyone. And yes, I will subtly flaunt the fact that I am a woman to the men in my life for as long as it works.

This book is cute, funny and true…. and it helped me to get back into the dating pool with much more success! Now, the guys always seem to happily pick up the tab for dinner, the movies, sports, vacations…. and the the guys I am attracting have more to spend. This isn’t mercenary, it’s just the old fashioned way to be, with a modern twist! And now I am engaged to a wonderful (and successful) man! Thanks!
5 Stars Fun, especially if you are “over” dating, about to give up
I was a couple years out of a divorce and found myself dating guys who treated me rather poorly, and I had no idea why. After reading a few other self help generic self esteem boosting and dating books, losing some weight, and updating my look, I subsequently fell into a bit of emotional detachment from STILL being treated funky by dates; this book came right on time for me.
I love the author’s candor and “older brother,I’m-telling-you-how-men-really-are, sis” playful lecturing. This book is not for the I’m-gonna-show-the-world-I-don’t-need-a-man woman. I had to let go of a lot of that for the author’s tips to work. Being a little emotionally detached helped with using his advice, too, since I figured at that point, I had nothing to lose.
Its a fun read, in my opinion. I read some of the chapters several times over, skipped a couple chapters (stealing someone’s man - WHAT?) and I got good at getting guys to woo me (takes patience, thought and a lot of confidence in yourself), and yes, I got stuff. But keep in mind, the author emphasizes that you must be *genuinely* nice and *sincerely* appreciative (hard to fake-unless you are a pro at it anyway), which is the bottom line, believe it or not. And I was/am very appreciative of stuff I got/get.
It was a nice way to get back in touch with my “girly girl, let the man be chivalrous” self (for example, smile more, play damsel in distress). Sounds cheesy, but the author points out rather simply quite a few subtleties in fine-tuning your performance as a woman who is wanted by all the guys without letting yourself be steamrolled by a dog/jerk/loser. Now that I have a steady boyfriend who happens to be a wonderful man, I treat him so much better than I normally would have in past relationships and it pays off, even though I do refer back to some of the books tips, just to keep me on my toes and to keep him happy.
2 Stars I expected more
After reading this book I feel disappointed! I expected more! But, just like men, this book is a huge let down! It reads like Seventeen Magazine and reminds me of those cheesy jr high books like, “How to meet Boys” ( hang out where he plays sports) and “How to be a great kisser”.(practice on your hand!)
Too cheesy, not funny and a waste. Then again if you are 17, go for it!
